How a Website Can Supercharge Marketing

Description: This blog talks about how having a website can boost marketing for your business, product(s), service(s), etc.

Introduction

If you look at large, well-known companies such as Apple, you’ll notice that they all have websites. Their websites use different marketing strategies to supercharge their marketing. Walmart, Amazon, Microsoft, LEGO, Nike, CVS Health, Bank of America; the list goes on and on. You may have noticed that the ones I mentioned aren’t within the same industry either. This shows how a website isn’t more beneficial to one industry than another, it’s important to all. In addition, a website isn’t only for these large companies. They’re even more important for the smaller businesses because it’s a phenomenal way to get your business out there. If you’re a local business, it’s important too. According to Olsen Metrix, “97% of people searching online to find companies nearby. 28% of local searches culminate in a purchase”. I wrote a blog specifically about websites for small businesses here, check it out!

Why are Websites important for businesses?

A website can take care of building credibility and increasing traffic.

It expands your range when reaching out to people and it builds credibility. Additionally, it makes the process so much easier. I mean, you can reach out to people who are across the world from your house. Credibility and increasing traffic to your business are the most important things to run a successful business. Firstly, credibility is important because it builds trust. No one wants to buy from a sketchy business. A lot of the time, if a person is curious about your business, they’ll look it up. With a website, your site will come up and if it’s properly made, it’ll put their concerns to rest. As for gaining traffic, it’s a way to bring people to your business. In this case, the internet and social media are your best friends. The amount of people that you can reach through it is crazy, so using it to your advantage is extremely important.

To expand on using social media, it’s a great way to bring traffic to your website. Your brand might not be known yet, and social media is a way to grow it. By having a site, you’ll have somewhere to send that new traffic. Then, hopefully those people can turn into conversions by buying a product, service, or whatever it is that you offer.

Marketing Strategies

Search Engine Optimization

One well-known marketing strategy is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO). By having a website, you can take advantage of SEO.

What is SEO? Well, SEO is a strategy used to increase the amount of traffic your site has. Its job is to increase your sites visibility on search engines. It helps your site become friends with search engines so that they’ll bring your site to the top of search results.

Ranking on search engines is important because it’ll move you to the top of search results, which means more people will see your site to click on. I’ve been talking about search results a lot, like how beneficial and important they are, but why can I even make these claims? Well, according to Olsen Metrix, “53.3% of all website traffic comes from organic search, and 49% of users say they use Google to discover a new product.” and “By creating a website that ticks the right SEO boxes, you can drive traffic to your website from people searching for what you have to offer. This will improve your business awareness and generate leads that can be turned into paying customers.” In other words, use SEO. Search engines are more impactful than you may have thought.

Conversion Rate Optimization

Once you gain the traffic, you need to convince those visitors to stay and come back. The design and functionality of your website will affect that, you can learn more about that on this blog. Besides that, you’ll also want visitors to complete a task. More specifically, a task that your website is based upon, such as buying your product and/or services. Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is another marketing strategy that’s used to increase the number of visitors that complete a specific task. This works with SEO because to get people to complete a task, you need people on the site. By utilizing CRO, you can increase your site’s engagement rates and, of course, conversion rates. Just like SEO, this should be used on your site. The goal of most businesses is to sell an idea, and this is a way to do that.

Conclusion

To conclude, a website is important no matter what size your business is. Many people feel like they don’t need a site, but if you plan on growing, you’ll want one. It doesn’t even need to be anything crazy; it just has to work correctly. Once you have the site, you’ll want to incorporate marketing strategies like SEO and CRO to boost the website traffic even more. To put all of this simply, a website will bring more awareness to your business. By doing that, more people will see your business, which means more people will see your products. If more people see your products, more people can buy your products.
