Best Hosting Services 2024

Description: This blog talks about what hosting services people should look out for in the 2024 season.

Introduction

Throughout the previous year, there were many hosting services that stood on top. Some of the most well-known include Bluehost, GoDaddy, and Hostinger. These were on top for several reasons, such as being user friendly and having commonly desired features. It’s 2024 though, so what hosting services are on top now? Or, which hosting services do we expect to grow?

What are hosting services?

Before we get into what hosting services to look out for, let’s talk about what they are. So, web hosting is a service that allows a person to publish a site or application onto the internet. A web hosting service is a service that will host a site or application for you.

Why should you use a hosting service?

These hosting services will store your websites data on servers. This saves you from having to figure out how all that works which saves you time. In addition, it’ll probably be more secure than it would be if you did it on your own. Unless you’re very experienced in web security and understand how all these things work. Still, there’s so much that goes into the backend of a website that helps it function. Creating a website is quite easy now due to the number of options like Squarespace, Shopify, and Wix. So, people may not be aware of everything that goes on in the background.

Hosting Services to look out for in 2024.

It’s only January, but there’s already hosting services to look out for. As I mentioned before, some of the most popular from the previous year included Hostinger, Bluehost, and GoDaddy. These services are still great resources and are services to look out for in 2024 as well. When choosing a hosting service, you may have different things you’re looking for. In addition, your budget and needs can differ from others. If you’re unsure of what to look for, here’s some tips and hosting services that could help you.

Beginner Hosting Services

  1. Bluehost

If you’re a beginner, Bluehost is a great and popular choice. It can start at $2.75/month, has up to 100GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, comes with a free domain for one-year, free daily backups, and unlimited SSL. It’s one of the best hosting services that integrate into WordPress. But hold on!

If you’re a beginner, you might not know why any of that is important. Depending on the size of your site, you’ll want to have enough storage to hold everything. The bandwidth controls how fast data is transferred from your website to a user. In other words, bandwidth makes sure your website is speedy, and users won’t have to wait long. A domain is your websites URL, and this free option lets you have a custom one for the year. After that, you’ll have to pay for that URL. Backups are files that store your websites data. If something goes wrong, a backup would allow you to restore your site and all its data. Check out this blog to learn more about backups. Lastly, SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer, and encrypts your site. It’s also known as TLS. It’s the “https” you see on sites that prove a site is secure.

  1. GoDaddy
  2. GoDaddy is another smart choice for beginners because of its hosting options that can work for many types of sites. It’s more expensive at $6.99 a month, but starts with a higher storage of 25GB and can reach up to 100GB. It has unlimited bandwidth and a free year domain. It has free daily backups and free unlimited SSL with specific plans. A feature that separates it from Bluehost is its auto migration tool that’ll allow you to migrate your website for free. This is when you make a notable change to a site that can change your search engine appearance.

  3. Hostinger
  4. Hostinger has all the features that I mentioned in the others, but is slightly different. The price starts at $1.39/month, the storage starts at 50GB and reaches up to 200GB, the backups are daily/weekly, and it has SSL. Something different from the others is that website migration is free and unlimited.

More Advanced Hosting Services:

  1. DigitalOcean
  2. Here’s a service you may not hear as much as the others. If you’re a beginner, this isn’t a service you’d want to start with. This hosting service is best for those with developing skills. Especially since some features require some experience to get set up. This service is very flexible and scalable, so it can be powerful for ones who know how to use it. In addition, it offers cloud services, so users can manage a site/application on droplet servers.

  3. Cloudways
  4. This one is a little debatable, as some will say its not beginner friendly and others will. Yes, a non-developer can migrate through this service, but it isn’t recommended for a complete beginner. It starts at 14/month, holds 20-320GB of storage, has 2GB-6TB of monthly bandwidth, daily backups, SSL, and one free migration choice. Like DigitalOcean, this service also offers cloud hosting which affects the way your website is balanced. This is something to look out for since the use of the cloud is expected to grow in 2024. I wrote about the cloud in another blog.

Hostinger, PC World, & HP

Conclusion

Look out for these hosting services for 2024, but it wouldn’t hurt to do your own research to find others. Who knows, there may be services that are better-suited for you that aren’t as widely used. Just make sure it’s what’s best for you, and it’s safe to use. I hope this blog helped!
